Dos Rios Ranch sits just outside the town line of Gonzales, Texas. This is the birthplace of Texas—the battle of Gonzales was the first battle of the Texas Revolution, and 41 men from this small town died at the Alamo. Things are a bit quieter nowadays. Along the 3-mile road that winds through the orchards, you’re likely to run across numerous species of birds, a family of white-tail deer, or the occasional armadillo. Within easy access of Austin, San Antonio and Houston, this fenced 448-acre ranch is situated at the confluence of the Guadalupe and San Marcos Rivers, with 5 miles of river frontage—3.2 miles on the Guadalupe, and 1.8 on the San Marcos. Here you’ll find the largest grafted pecan orchard in the county, with 4500 trees, as well as 1500 native trees. For more information and photos, please return to the main page. |
